Join us for an informative and action invoking presentation on human trafficking and learn how it is affecting our region.  The modern day equivalent of slavery, the human trafficking industry generates more than $32 billion a year.  Traffickers use force, fraud and coercion to control victims and use them for labor or servitude.  Even in our community it is occurring around us, in restaurants, hotels/motels, farms, factories, homes, strip clubs, and brothels.  Victims can be from other countries (international victims) or from the United States (domestic  victims) and forms of human trafficking include labor trafficking, organ trafficking, and/or sex trafficking.  Join us as we learn more about this devastating issue and discuss ways that we can help make an impact and reduce the incidence.

******In conjunction with this presentation, CPAFE is asking that all attendees participate in our supply drive to support the HT program within the YWCA.  The YWCA is often the organization police, EMS, and health care systems turn to when a victim of human trafficking is released.  These victims most times have nothing more than the clothes they are wearing (if that).  The YWCA provides essentials to assist in the transitioning from the trafficking experience.  Please consider organizing a drive at your office and among your friends and family.  Use email and social media to solicit help from your circle of influence.  Bring items (ALL NEW) to our June 5th meeting and help the YWCA meet the needs of these victims and getting them on the road to a supportive recovery environment.******

Needed Items (ALL NEW):

  • Toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap)
  • Twin Sheet Sets, Blankets, and Pillow
  • Women's Socks, T-shirts, Sweatpants, and Sweatshirts (all sizes)
  • Gift Cards (Walmart, Target, Giant)
