SPEAKER PRESENTATION: Carol Nechenmair

Associate Professor of Public Policy and Politics
School of Public Affairs, Penn State Harrisburg


Topic: Does it matter whether women vote?
 Whether women walk the hallways of power? 

 From suffrage leaders to contemporary political strategies, this presentation will explore expectations about women’s impact on the political system.

Carol Nechenmair is an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Politics at Penn State Harrisburg, where she serves as coordinator for the Harrisburg Semester Program, a Penn State wide internship and seminar that focuses on the policy making community in our state capital. She graduated from Washington University (St. Louis) for a B.A. in History and hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from Ohio State University. Her areas of specialization include Russian domestic politics and women in politics.
